Global Studies Internship

As a Liberty University Global Studies student you are required to complete an international internship of at least 15 weeks. Whether you are majoring in Global Studies or have a minor in it, you can earn course credit, experience a new culture and help share God’s love alongside experienced Converge International Ministries global workers through an [IM]PACT Global Missions Service Internship.

More than just class credit

Through your [IM]PACT Global Missions Service Internship, you can earn course credit through a full-semester experience. This semester will be more than a resumé filler or class credit. A Converge International Ministries [IM]PACT Global Missions Service Internship allows you to personally encounter the challenge and adventure of global ministry.

You will experience the unique culture of a foreign land while making an eternal impact by taking the life-changing gospel to the world’s least-reached people, because Converge International Ministries is asking God for a gospel movement in every least-reached people group—in our generation.

How it works

Application & interview

Fill out the application to get started. Then we’ll contact you for an interview to prepare for next steps.

Orientation

We want to make sure you are prepared for your experience. Before you go, you’ll receive training for your specific internship and for raising your financial support.

Ministry

You will be immersed in the culture and build relationships that help point people toward Jesus. During your semester internship experience, five days each week are devoted to your ministry and missions work.

Academics

One day each week is set aside for your academic work. This time is dedicated to your Liberty courses, which help you to learn the language and culture and process your experiences.

Sabbath

One day each week (not your academic-focused day) is set aside for you to observe the Sabbath. Observing the Sabbath is a key part of resting and avoiding the burnout that affects many global workers.

Mentorship

You will serve with a full-time global worker who will supervise and mentor you. Your supervisor will be an experienced global worker who has experienced the culture shock and stresses of global missions work.

Debrief

When you return, you’ll take time to discuss your experience with other interns. We’ll support you as you readjust and talk next steps.

[IM]PACT Global Missions Service Internships are volunteer and unpaid. You will need to raise support to cover your expenses.

Cost vary by location. Living expenses (food and lodging) will be covered while you are serving and during your debriefing, but all personal items and expenses will be your responsibility.

You must be at least 18 years old to apply.
