Story

Jezreel (Don) and Carol met at Bible college in the Philippines, but Carol joined the pioneer team of Bethlehem Star of Peace (BSOP) fieldworkers in Bangkok,Thailand, in 2004. Their long-distance relationship blossomed and they were married in 2007. Jezreel then joined Carol in Bangkok at Santisuk English School where they were strategic in reaching Thai students and discipling new believers as well as training church leaders. BSOP fieldworkers partner with Converge missionaries in starting and strengthening churches among the unreached Thai people. Fewer than 1% of Thai follow Jesus and most know nothing about His life, death, or love for them.

Santisuk had the vision to expand to other areas of Bangkok and in mid-2009 Estrellas led the church planting team in Ladkrabang, a growing city near the newly constructed Bangkok International Airport. Since that time, they have led the school and church planting efforts. Their team has included the Estrellas, including their son CJ, Thai partners, and dozens of short-term American and Filipino volunteer teachers. There is now an established cell church in Ladkrabang and the Santisuk English Center has built a reputation as the area’s best conversational English school.

King Mongkut Institute of Technology–Ladkrabang (KMITL) is a leading research university in East Asia offering various programs in engineering and technology to over 20,000 students. Santisuk English Center–Ladkrabang is reaching KMITL students and staff through offering conversational English. Learners at Santisuk are exposed to Bible texts in each English lesson as they study English comprehension. Seekers learn more about the Bible when they join one of the cell groups, Bible studies, church worship, and/or have individual discipleship sessions with Estrellas and other staff.

SEC–Ladkrabang sponsors weekly English for Kids classes at the Public Library giving regular contact with more than 30 Thai families through that outreach. Monthly school and church outreach activities, camps and retreats attract Thai students and families to join Christians in family-friendly outings and sports events.

Don has served as the Country Director for Bethlehem Star of Peace for several years. Both Don and Carol coach other missionaries and English center leaders—both Thai and foreigners.

Join the support team of the Estrellas by praying and giving for their strategic ministry.
SEC–Ladkrabang needs native English-speaking volunteer teachers every month of every year. Contact www.santisuk.org for more details about becoming a Santisuk volunteer.

Thailand // Santisuk English Center—Ladkrabang is fun. It attracts Thai students from a local university as well as employees from the city and nearby international airport. All of them want to speak English so they can get better jobs and be understood when they work and travel outside Thailand. But at Sanitsuk, learners get more than great English classes, they’re introduced to Jesus—His power, His church, and His love for them!
