Converge North Central Awarded $1.25 Million Grant to Address Economic Challenges Facing Pastors

Thursday, June 20, 2024 - Converge North Central has received a $1.25 million grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. The purpose of the grant is: (1) provide financial education for pastors (2) provide personal financial plans through a 3rd party firm (3) when needed, provide money for their individual retirement plans. This grant will be implemented in partnership with the financial stewardship department of CNC, the lead pastor, and their local church board.

CNC Church plant partners with local business to keep it running while owner in hospital with COVID
Like many church plants, when Pursuit Community Church launched in the fall of 2018 in Mounds View, MN, they had no office space. At the time, there were only two staff members. “We used to work out of coffee shops, restaurants, libraries, anywhere that had free Wi-Fi and cozy space. That all changed the day I walked into the Winkin Rooster.” said Lead Pastor Mark Allen.
