6 DEGREE INITIATIVE

About

JJ and Melissa Alderman, 6 Degree Initiative’s founding missionaries, are partnering with national leaders to plant churches in the least-reached cities of the region. A concentrated church planting movement within these culturally significant cities serves as a launching pad for ministry into smaller communities. Currently, the five projects within the 6 Degree Initiative are: Togo Church Planting, Benin Church Planting, Togo Palms, Deaf Project, and Vocational Training.

THE PLACE

Map

6 Degree Initiative serves unreached people groups in Togo and Benin. Togo and Benin are located just north of the equator in West Africa where 70% of the population is under 30 years old. Here, Voodoo is the most commonly practiced religion in this region. Our goal is reach and train up the next generation of leaders to spread the Gospel.

The People

6 Degree Initiative serves individuals in the Aneho, Afagnan and Ouidah. We served the many overlooked individuals of the deaf community through our Deaf Program. The 6 Degree Initiative is reaching and training the next generation of leaders. We serve the children of these cities, teaching them biblical truths.

THE IMPACT

Our goal is to reach and train up the next generation of leaders to spread the gospel. We partner with national leaders to plant churches in the region’s least-reached cities. A concentrated church planting movement within culturally significant cities serves as a launching pad for ministry into smaller communities. As of 2022, the 6 Degree Initiative has planted 17 gospel churches. We prayerfully believe we can reach 50 by the end of 2026.
