A visionary - someone who is thinking about or planning the future with imagination or wisdom. This is the one word that has come to mind over the past month. What if together we could create vision and make an impact among people who suffer in both fear and poverty? It appears that doors continue to be opened as the Lord makes us aware of areas of need that could potentially be impacted through the 6° Initiative. Therefore, we are holding the projects with open hands as He expands the visions of our team. Visions with influence can lead to impact; Gospel-focused influence can lead to eternal salvation for the lives of those impacted.
As the 6° Initiative grows and develops, it will now include two more projects in addition to the Togo Church planting, Benin Church planting, and Togo Palms ministry camp. One of those new projects will incorporate vocational training. Togo is one of the poorest countries in the world so while making an impact with the Gospel, we will seek to also develop the ways in which people work. While working alongside the Togolese to plant churches and build a camp, we will get to train and equip them with vocational skills such as welding, masonry, and other construction trades. We know that God is big and has so many things in store that we may not even know about yet so we are relying on Him with all of this as He builds our team and gives us the gifts and skills that are useful for His kingdom.
As we continue to press towards the goal of reaching Togo by January, we are also intentional with enjoying the time we have here. During the past month we were able to spend time with some of the growing Togo team in Andrews, NC. Getting the chance amidst everyone's active schedules to meet and bond with teammates before hitting the field is exciting and fulfilling. Also through April we were able to reach 34% of our required monthly financial needs! This means we met our goal for the month of April! We are pressing in to reach the goal for May which is to be 44% funded.
We ask all of you to continue to pray for: - Kristen and me as we travel throughout the southeast - Our future partners - We all may see God's light shine bright in Togo.
Much love from us.
