Diaspora Initiative: Unreached peoples, formerly contained within the 10/40 Window, are now included among immigrants moving to the United States. There are already 3.5 million Muslims living in the U.S., most of whom arrived within the last decade. As immigrants who are Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and secularists, they rarely visit churches; instead they build their own familiar places of worship. Jesus, however, commanded us to go, and many of the unreached are now here on our doorstep. Jesus is their only hope for eternal life! The Converge Diaspora Initiative is designed to mobilize local churches into a citywide strategy, forming teams to plant churches among these unreached immigrant peoples.
Larry and Helen Taylor are uniquely gifted for this kind of ministry. They planted five house churches in one of the largest Muslim ethnic groups in Southeast Asia; Helen set up a medical clinic in that country and Larry co-founded (with the founder of a Chinese Pentecostal denomination) a national mission agency using church planting teams in 15 unreached people groups. They have led multinational teams of believers, and helped found missionary-sending bases in two SE Asian countries.
Now here in the U.S., they remain a bridge between churches and the unsaved, assisting two ethnic churches, a significant annual Christian conference on Islam, and direct outreach to local Muslims.
Their goal? They aim to create movements to Christ of Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus and secular immigrants, through multiplying the intentional witness of trained, organized Christians who care. Your fellowship, prayers, participation, connections and financial support are deeply appreciated!
