Ranch Camp 2022

Converge Great Lakes is pleased to present Ranch Camp 2022 at Lake Ellen Bible Camp. Ranch Camp is for girls in grades 4 - 12. Campers will learn Level 1–4 skills and knowledge of horsemanship. Ranch Camp is six days long (Sunday to Friday). Each day is filled with both classroom and hands on learning. In addition to horsemanship, ground skills, and trail rides, campers will have Bible study and worship, free time activities, cook outs over the campfire, swimming and other fun adventures. Camp size is limited to a maximum of 20 campers per week. At the end of the week, campers will show off their new or improved skills in a horse show.

  • July 17 - 22, 2022
  • July 24 - 29, 2022
  • July 31 - August 5, 2022

All campers should come equipped with a couple of pairs of denim jeans (that can get dirty) along with riding boots or closed toed shoe/boot with a slight heel. If you have your own riding helmet please bring it with you. If you do not own a helmet, We can supply one for you.

Total cost for camp is $495

At Ranch Camp you'll learn:

  • Basic horse anatomy
  • Use and knowledge of tack
  • How to properly groom a horse and daily responsibilities
  • Proper riding skills; including leading, mounting, dismounting, walking and trotting
  • Riding is “Western-based”

NURSE

Are you a certified nurse? Do you love working with youth? Then we need you to provide oversight of the camps health care needs at the 2022 Ranch Camp.

Qualifications: Current certification as a registered nurse or higher; the ability to administer medications; responsible and dependable; enjoys working with children and adults; willingness to live at camp while camp is in session.

Essential Functions & Duties:

  1. Maintain necessary medical supplies
  2. Maintain first aid kits
  3. Assist ill and injured campers/staff
  4. Review all campers health forms and fill out Cabin Medical List for counselors
  5. Receive all campers medications at check-in and inquire about medical history and allergies
  6. Maintain camper medications. Return them to parents at check-out.
  7. Dispense camper meds at appropriate times.
  8. Maintain medical records & incident reports regarding medical care during camp
  9. Communicate with parents/guardians regarding camper health issues 
  10. Be flexible and help in other areas as needed.

The pay is $200 per week. Camp is from:

  • July 10–15, 2022
  • July 17–22, 2022
  • July 24–29, 2022
  • July 31–August 5, 2022

Staff Training is from June 28–July 9, 2022

COOK

Are you a certified food safe cook? Do you love kids? Do you love to cook? We need you!

Essential Functions & Duties

  1. Prepares soups, meats, vegetables, salads, dressings, and desserts for consumption at camp cafeteria. 
  2. Experience in providing lightly seasoned, nutritionally adequate and varied diet.
  3. Inspects equipment for cleanliness functional operation.
  4. Work is usually performed with volunteers.
  5. Plan menus, order food supplies, and receive supplies delivered.

Abilities

  1. Manage own time and the time of others.
  2. Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, organization rules, and the democratic political process.
  3. Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

The pay is $200 per week. Camp is from:

  • July 10–15, 2022
  • July 17–22, 2022
  • July 24–29, 2022
  • July 31–August 5, 2022

Staff Training is from June 28–July 9, 2022

LIFE GUARD

Certified lifeguard(s) needed during Ranch Camp 2022!

Certified lifeguards must be trained to respond to injuries, potential cases of drowning and other medical emergencies. In addition, you must be prepared to enforce safety rules and instructing campers on the safety rules. You must be at least 16 years old. Be able to swim 50 yards without stopping. 

Not currently certified but have been in the past? No problem, we will pay to have your certification made current. 

Weekly pay is $200. You may choose to work 1 week of camp or all four! The camp schedule is:

  • June 28 to July 8, 2022 - staff training
  • July 10 - 15, 2002 - Week 1 of camp
  • July 17 - 22, 2022 - Week 2 of camp
  • July 24 - 29, 2022 - Week 3 of camp
  • July 31 - August 5, 2022 - Week 4 of camp
