Story
We began our pursuit of missionary service to Germany as the result of strong yearnings in Tim to return to the country that his heart has loved since childhood. Tim's family lived in Germany for six years while his dad was serving in the U.S. Army. What seemed like mere nostalgia, became a clear call from God to go and serve Him in a city he once feared because the Berlin Wall was still up when Tim's family lived there.
We will be joining a church planting team in East Berlin. Our aim will be to use our 15 years of ministry experience to provide support for the lead church planter and to learn from him how to effectively plant a church in the multi-ethnic and multi-cultural city of Berlin. We will also work with other church planting catalysts and coaches in Berlin in order to better understand how to contextualize the gospel in a city as secular as Berlin. Eventually, we would aim to plant new churches in other districts throughout city.
Additionally, Berlin is the home of people from over 170 countries. We will labor to evangelize and disciple people from the least reached places of the world who have come to Berlin. Our hope is that a gospel movement would spread among the least reached people groups that have made Berlin their home.
