“For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge–that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”

We are asking God for a gospel movement among every least-reached people group – in our generation. This is a huge ask, a petition to God to do immeasurably more than has ever happened before. Our global workers are determined to see this goal as a reality. They serve in spiritually dark and dangerous areas of the world, sharing the gospel with anyone who will listen. 

But global workers are people like everyone else. There are moments where they feel overwhelmed by the large task at hand. There are moments where they are weighed down by doubt or a lack of understanding of how God is currently at work in their region. When the areas they are sharing the gospel in are so spiritually against them, it’s sometimes hard for them to see a clear picture of how God is moving. 

But, God is moving whether they recognize it or not. The word of God never returns void. The work they do is important and many are deciding to follow Christ because of it. But, we don’t want our global workers to burn out. We don’t want them to give up on the work that God has called them to! 

As we gather today to pray, ask God that they would be strengthened with the power of the Spirit in their inner being. Also, consider how you might send a message of encouragement to a global worker you know or one that is connected to your church. Ask them what God-sized prayers you can offer for them and use these requests in your prayer time today!

Prayer for Those Who Have Been Sent: 
Gracious Lord, we want to pray for those who have answered the call You placed on their lives to go and make disciples of all nations. We ask that Christ may dwell richly in their hearts through faith and that they may grasp the amazing, powerful, all-encompassing love Christ has for them.
